We are looking to develop the next generation of intelligent control for 3D printing factories to help them be more user friendly and scalable. Unlike traditional manufacturing where a factory will make 1 million of the same part every week, 3D printing factories will make 1 million different parts per week. There is a lot of manual work that goes into processing each part and a poor feedback loop between process inputs and output quality. As a 3D printer OEM, we have access to a rich customer base and a lot of data. We believe there is an exciting opportunity to develop an AI powered solution to help automate and optimize the experience around the 3D printing process at scale.

Mosaic is a leader in 3D printing technology with 15,000+ products shipped worldwide and a portfolio of advanced hardware, software, materials, and IP.Mosaic is disrupting conventional supply chains with enhanced digital manufacturing alternatives. Mosaic’s goal is to bring 3D printing to the factory floor to usher in the next generation of on demand, local manufacturing.

Project Objectives:

Develop an AI (neural network) capable of determining the relationship between inputs to the 3D printing workflow and the resulting print success, enabling:

Improved 3D printing effective speed and throughput by at least 2X
Reduced 3D printing labour running costs by at least 30%
Improved process yield and system uptime by at least 30%

What THEY bring to the table:

We are experts in multi-material 3D printing and its use in high volume manufacturing applications. We develop and manufacture all hardware, software, and materials used in the process, which means we have full access to the tech stack to support a deep integration. We have a strong understanding of the manufacturing market and how to to drive impact in the advanced manufacturing process.

What YOU will bring to the table:

We are seeking expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, and Machine learning. We are looking for a partner with experience applying these technologies to real world applications and who has a track record of strong execution. We are looking for a partner with strong commercialization potential of their AI based product that can grow alongside Mosaic’s ecosystem in a non-competing market.
