TetraGen has developed patent-pending 3D vision solutions that enable industrial robots to automatically identify and localize parts and perform desired processes in a self-adjusting manner. Our vision system can account for part inaccuracies and automatically adjust robot programs based on the real geometry of each part. Our unique capability lies in automating precision manufacturing processes in low-volume, high-mix, and highly variable settings. We have been working closely with aerospace and vehicle manufacturing companies to help them automate processes such as trimming, sanding, and polishing. Our software leverages intuitive geometrical characteristics of parts, thus allowing non-expert operators to set up the vision system for new parts without the need for machine vision expertise.
